The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

  • Jun 18, 2015
  • 2 min read

May has come and gone and June brings us summer and many more great reads! The novel for June is one that I would not normally read and doesn’t even fall into my niche, but even I have to venture out every once in a while to read literature that interests others, just to see a different perspective. My preference makes no difference considering that the author of this novel is world-renowned for his work, including but not limited to A Walk To Remember, The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. If you are a fan of his then I had you at “A Walk” (lol). Join me under a beautiful tree and next to lunch-time traffic while I review The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks.

Cherished Excerpt from The Longest Ride

I like this intimate moment described by Nicholas Sparks between the two main characters, Luke and Sophia. When they get back together they exchange a conversation that any real couple would speak of. Take a look…

“That evening, as they snuggled on the couch beneath a blanket, the fireplace roaring, Sophia asked, “Are you going to miss riding?”

“Probably al ittle,” he said. “Not enough to do it again, though.”

“You sound so sure of that.”

“I’m sure.”

Sophia turned to study his face, mesermized by the reflection of firelight in his eyes. “m kind of sad for your mom,” she said. “I know she’s relieved that you stopped, but…”

“Yeah,” he said. “I’m sad too. But I’ll make it up to her somehow.”

“I think having you around is all she really wanted.”
