Jasmine Green Tea by Numi - Organic Tea

It is splack-dab in the middle of winter and I am suffering from a sore throat, slight migraine and ear ache so I will try not to be biased when reviewing this soft jasmine scented green tea, as if my bias towards tea wasn’t already present!

A little about the brand…
First of all, the company that supplies this particular tea blend is named Numi – Organic Tea. There are two locations in the North American region, both locations are found in California. Numi promotes well-being of mind, spirit and body using the divine beverage that is tea. Not only does Numi create healthful products for people, but they are also conscious of the health of the planet.
The name “Numi” actually derives from the Middle Eastern dried lime teasan that the founders of the company drunk as children in Iraq. Numi is created by steeping a rare desert sun-dried lime in hot water. Numi translates into “Citrus” from the Arabic language.
We thank you Numi for your diligence towards our health, the planet’s health and culture itself! In addition, my sore throat thanks you for the Jasmine Green Tea that I am reviewing today. (I promise, I am remaining non-biased).
Well oh my, doesn’t that smell lovely…
Imagine yourself walking alongside a dirt pathway, the sun is bright but not burning. Miles and miles you can see the horizon and covering the right and left side of your pathway are jasmine fields. This tea takes you there. The scent of jasmine is so potent that you can smell it before it is brought to your nostrils. The interesting thing is that further away, the scent of jasmine is clear and discerning but when you take your tea cup and place it to your nose to take a whiff, jasmine is actually the second scent. The green tea leaves enter the nostrils first and tagging behind is the jasmine. One thing I love about tea is that no matter what other essence it may contain, it almost always remains in the spotlight.
I can’t believe my eyes!
Green tea is usually very soft in color, varying from lighter to darker green.

The hue of this tea is, well, let me describe it as this: Imagine that you have a tea cup filled with green tea. Two lovely birds come and take hold of your shirt sleeves and take you up to the clouds.
They place you on top of a cumulus and a little cloud dust gets in your tea as you plop down.

What I am trying to say is that perhaps the white jasmine flower petals cloud the color of the tea a bit as the color of this tea is not as translucent as green tea normally is. What?! Can’t I have an imagination?
The divine taste of tea…
This tea has a very familiar taste of green tea, except it was not as herb-y as green tea seems at times when not blended. The jasmine leaves a tart taste towards the end of each sip which can leave your palette feeling a little dry. The taste is not perfumed as one would think and the green tea and jasmine petals really balance each other delightfully.
Effect?
I feel alive and awake after I drink this tea. Alive and awake in the way that green tea makes you alive and awake, very subtly. The jasmine is quite calming and I have a sense of feeling warm and at home.

Well, that’s Tea End folks!
